整体介绍
直立多年生草本或半灌木，高达60厘米，有水液，全株无毛。栽培变种有：白长春花 C. roseus (L.) G.Don cv. Albus，花白色；黄长春花 C.roseus (L.) G. Don cv. Flavus，花黄色。
形态
花
聚伞花序顶生或腋生，有花2-3朵；花冠红色，高脚碟状，花冠裂片5枚，向左覆盖；雄蕊5枚着生于花冠筒中部之上；花盘为2片舌状腺体组成，与心皮互生而比其长。
叶子
叶对生，膜质，倒卵状矩圆形，长3-4厘米，宽1.5-2.5厘米，顶端圆形。
果实
蓇葖果2个，直立。
种子
种子无种毛，具颗粒状小瘤凸起。

枝或茎
功用
全草药用，可治高血压、急性白血病、淋巴肿瘤等。
地理分布
原产非洲东部；在我国西南、中南及华东各省区也有栽培。
